Five Nights at Freddy’s 3? Really? – February 1st 2014

Five Nights at Freddy’s 3? Really? – February 1st 2014

It’s safe to say that the fnaf series has been a complete success, the first game was great, and the second game just the same, literally. The second game added a few more features and removed a couple other ones. Not exactly a full sequel is it?
The trailer for fnaf 3 has come out recently and after watching it a few times and looking at some official screenshots from Scott himself, the game already looks like there’s nothing much new. First let’s talk about the office, time you can assume we will be in an office again because of the picture of the office that we see in the trailer and official screenshots. The office looks different itself, but it is still the same concept of being in a room. The office in fnaf 3 looks almost like something from “Half-Life 2” that you see going through the tunnels, creepier I’ll give it that.

The animatronics, or should I say animatronic in this game looks no different, and yes it is speculated that there is only one animatronic in fnaf 3 as of right now. Leading me to suspect that this animatronic is a fast and sneaky one. I personally do not think that 1 animatronic is going to do the game any good, but I’d like to see Scott prove me wrong. The one thing I do notice is that in the image showing the security camera, there is foxy there as well, with a light in his eye, also in the image showing the new animatronic in its jump scare, in the background there is what looks to be, a dismantled Freddy. Now that does not mean that they will be active in the game, but it does mean that there is already more the 1 animatronic in the game.

I think the gameplay will be the same, Scott does have quite a few limitations due to the engine he creates the games in, it is based in 2D so that it can be played on mobile devices as well, but if he were to experiment with new engines, there could be amazing potential with other add-ons.
There is no confirmed release date for fnaf 3, there was speculation of it being released February the 5th but that was debunked by Scott on the steam page for fnaf 3:
“…I want to take a second to debunk a rumor that the game will be released on February 5th, however. ;) Although I've made a lot of progress on the game, there is still a LOT of work to be done. I'm working hard to make a great game for all of you so try to be patient.” Said Scott Cawthon

No matter what, the internet will still go crazy for this game, as it is already #1 on steam greenlight it no doubt has a ton of backing. I will be purchasing fnaf 3 as well, and I am sure it will be still a great game! If there is ever an fnaf 4, it would be nice to a great re-vamp of the engine, allowing many more great ways to spend those precarious five nights at Freddy’s.

Dying Light? Already? - January 31, 2015

“Dying Light” Already?
By: VjoogerPerson

With the game being less than a week old, “Dying Light” has sparked some attention for itself, but is it too soon? Since it is (at time of writing this) in its first few days of release, it is of course still a buggy, laggy, and glitchy game. There is even a game-breaking exploit, allowing you to duplicate weapons, granting you unlimited money very fast. The game is very un-optimized for a full release, if you look at “Jacksepticeye"’s first video on this game (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ke9K3GPzsiI) he has a beast of a PC but if you watch carefully occasionally you can really see a drop of frames, especially in fight and sightseeing scenes. These two factors combined can make people lose interest in the game very fast when it is only a baby, so to speak.

There are already a ton of advertisements on many websites advertising this game, and I really don’t think the game is ready for this amount of people to be playing, exploiting, and making their first impressions. For a game being in full release, but looking more like an early access, it doesn’t contain what is needed for the game to catch so many people’s attention. Bringing people in now will only be showing a great potential, it’s like showing someone your almost completed painting.

One thing I would like to point out is the fact that this game resembles so much “FarCry” and “Deadrising” to me. I was watching a “Dying Light” advertisement one afternoon and at first I had no knowledge that it was for “Dying Light”, and my number one thought was that “Ubisoft” or “Crytek Studios” were adding some sort of zombie DLC to “FarCry 4”. The player modeling, the map, and especially the arms of your character look a lot like “FarCry” to me. “Dying Light” is similar to “Deadrising” in my opinion because of the gameplay, I see it as being very similar, killing zombies (Like we don’t have enough of that) with interesting weapons, and a large variety of different zombie types, with a subtle story. Ring any bells?

Other then all these errors I see in the Marketing of the game, I still am an advocate for it, and am planning on purchasing it when they fix a few of the problems I’ve spoken of here. I feel it can bring back “Zombie” games to an extent and I am interested in seeing where this game goes, and I certainly hope it goes well, but I just feel that “Dying Light” is going to be dying out of the spotlight pretty soon.
